It’s the start of Week 2 and I can honestly say that I’ve been pretty uncomfortable over the weekend…stiff and sore in the lower back, tension in the neck and my right foot hasn’t been too happy either. I was given a strange yellow paste to apply to painful areas which to all intents and purposes smells like dog poo! They say pain in the body is nothing but blocked energy so I’m looking forward to releasing it (and also smelling better) – it gets worse before it gets better right?

Don’t be fooled by the simple label “Stretch class” – it’s actually pretty brutal and presumes a pretty good level of fitness and strength to start with…thank god for my PT! It’s a combination of strengthening and stretching based on Shihan martial arts. Just when you think you’ve nailed it, one of several “ninjas” who have been quietly observing appears and stealthily corrects your alignment and posture, and at some point you can barely feel your limbs anymore.
Now that I’ve had two spinal realignments, I’ll start today with tendon alignment around the bones in their new position.
Deep breath…week 2 here I come!
